Fort Robinson State Park … Crawford, Nebraska

This is off the beaten path, but what a beautiful place, about 25 miles west of Chadron, Nebraska, which is about 8 hours NW of Omaha.  This is our 5th or 6th time here.  Our kids loved this place back in the mid-1990s.  Tonight we’re staying in the brick barracks that were built in 1909.  We just finished our buffalo steaks and baked potatoes.

Looking out on the buttes north of Fort Robinson

The balcony of the barracks. Our room is on left.

Water to drink here, and lots of dry air to breath.
